Tom Binns Designs

My latest discovery has me running to a shop to buy these! Tom Binns the designer for Alice In Wonderland Film has upped the ante when it comes to movie merchandise, joining forces with Disney Couture to collaborate on a six-piece, limited-edition jewellery collection inspired by the 3D film, due to hit Australian cinemas March 4.

The limited edition Tom Binns for Walt Disney Signature will consist of six high fashion pieces, which will retail from $1,000 to $2,000 at luxury retailers and fine boutiques nationwide. A more affordable collection, dubbed Tom Binns for Disney Couture will include 35 pieces designed in collaboration with Lucas Design International will retail from $100- $500; it will be available at department stores and specialty boutiques. Both collections will make their debut in Spring 2010.

Article of the Day: Lady GaGa Unwanted.

"Everyone wants a piece of Lady GaGa right? All except designer Antonio Berardi, it seems.

"I was approached to design a clothing range with Lady GaGa but I knocked it back because I wasn't interested in someone whose music is meaningless,” the British designer told the Herald Sun while in Sydney earlier this month.

Seems Berardi wants to play the long game. "Her music is meaningless now so what impact will it have in 20 years?" he mused. We don’t know, Poker Face, in which Lady GaGa wears one of Berardi’s dresses, is pretty darn catchy.

But don’t mistake his snub at Lady GaGa as prudishness towards some of her shocking outfits – this is the man who grabbed headlines when he dressed Victoria Beckham in those incredible heel-less boots and Gwyneth Paltrow in a see-through lace panelled dress.

Lady GaGa meanwhile, has recovered nicely by performing for Queen Elizabeth and appearing in the new M.A.C Viva Glam spring campaign with punk princess Cyndi Lauper.

Oh my! Finally there's someone from the fashion industry who doesn't like her!! Personally I can't stand her she reminds me of Paris Hilton, both vacuous and pointless creatures who have no talent and rely in gimmicky publicity. I mean have you seen the interview Gaga did here in Australia on Rove?.....talk about sloooooooow. She should change her name to GagGag, but I do listen to her music because its all over the radio!! Everything about Lady GaGa is so contrived and really her songs are quite ordinary. There is no substance, it's all just controversy and fashion. She's not musically innovative at all and really her publicists and stylists should be the ones getting all the credit. meow!

What I can't stand is how she makes a mockery of fashion and style. I've never seen her actually look decent, without being outrageous!

Oh How I Love Thee!

I've just discovered some amazingly gorgeous yet simple jewellery from The Vamoose or known as Fish_bear on Flickr. She creates the kind of jewellery i like, quirky, beautiful and understated. Cleverly showing how versatile these pieces are, she pairs them with an outfit of her own
You can check out her site :

Really gorgeous!

Carrie Bradshaw Apartment Envy

All of the apartments that appear in the film and in the series have to be one of my all time favourites except for Charlotte's apartment when it was filled with plaid, mallard decoys and duffles!
Although Miranda's apartment at times did look boring but over the years it has improved and the bedroom in her Brooklyn house is gorgeous!!
Samantha always had a knack of choosing wide open spaces and getting apartments where no one would think to go, in the meat packing district, her home in LA is stunning but I really didnt like how on the outside her home was pratically identical to the next house!
The king of minimal is Mr Big, I loved the bold move he made in the series painting the wall red... loved it!

I could go on!

Sleepless Nights

Ever wondered how some film directiors decide what kind of movie they want to make?
The Boyfriend and I went and saw 'Paranormal Activity' today. Scary film, however the atmosphere within the cinema was ruined by a bunch of teenagers giggling and carrying on, must have been nervous laughter i'm sure but the ambience of the film was thus ruined, nonethless it made it less scary.
I do give credit to the people who made the film, it actually made The Boyfriend jump.

Really well done, a must see.

Ciao lovelies!

Here I am, ready to help you absorb fashion, beauty and the oddities that life brings.
I'm a fashion student who lives in the land down under and in love with a wonderful man and a little dog with boundless energy! I sleep in a bed, drink wine, devour fiction, consider vogue as poetry, hate carrots, and just love you, I'm whimsical like that.
This blog will not only keep my obsession for fashion under control but also show you the wonderful things my eyes love to see.
